Rod Lowe holds a B.Com(Hons) degree completed at University of Durban (Natal) in 1988 and passed the ILPA exam to become a qualified CFP in 2001. He has also passed the domestic forex exams and the J.S.E. exams. Rod has 32 years of investment experience and started in financial services in 1991 at Sanlam in the Assurance industry in Durban after returning from two years in London with JP Morgan Bank.

He moved to Old Mutual for two years into a management role but decided he preferred client fronting and so then moved to Syfrets Private Bank in 1996 to specialise in investment portfolios for private clients. He later joined HSBC securities in 1999 as a stockbroker and then took a transfer with HSBC to Cape Town in 2002.

A move to Nedgroup Private Bank in 2006 at the Foreshore Cape Town to look after high net worth private client individuals within the Nedgroup Private bank suite lasted until 2010. It was at this time that Rod decided to go on his own and formed his own financial services business and has been on his own since then.

He formed Investonline in 2010 with Nick Brummer.

Co-Managed the Prosperity Worldwide Flexible fund unit trust with Nick Brummer from 2013 to 2020.

In November 2020 Rod launched Value Asset Management (Pty.) Ltd. to specialise in a value biased investment approach & launched the AG Capital Value Flexible Fund to appeal to long term value style investors.
